SpayWV is a division of Help for Animals, Inc., a West Virginia non-profit corporation, that began in 1973 as a local resource to assist needy pet owners with money to minimize the amount they had to pay veterinarians to have their pets spayed or neutered.  From the date they started until the end of 1996, we assisted over 6,000 pet owners with financial aid so they could better afford to have their animals altered.

In 1997, Help for Animals, Inc., opened the Help for Animals Clinic in Huntington, the first low-cost, high-volume clinic in West Virginia.  In 2000, they moved their clinic to Barboursville, adjacent to the Huntington Mall on Route 60 East, just off I-64.  From their opening date for the clinic on Spay Day USA, on February 25, 1997.  We have spayed or neutered over 100,000 dogs and cats.

More information and pricing for the Help for Animals Clinic may be found on their website www.helpforanimals.net.   In May 2010, SpayUSA announced they had selected Help for Animals, Inc., as the sponsor of the West Virginia state program for providing information to the citizens of West Virginia about where they could locate a clinic or veterinarian who would provide them a low-cost spay or neuter ina  clinic near to their hometown.
